FAQs

Does each property have it's own swimming pool for it's own use?

Yes - there are 2 quite separate pools - one for each property.

La Maison pool: approx. 9.5m x 4.5m plus steps; constant depth 1.2m; mildly saltly water (i.e. very gentle, no chlorine), security fenced with lockable gate to comply.

La Grange pool: approx. 10.5m x 5m plus roman end; 1.2m shelf to whole perimeter, centre flat 1.5m. Part fenced and alarmed to comply.

What's included?

Everything - that is rent, rates, heat, light, cooking gas, welcome pack, bathroom towels (not pool towels), linen (beds are made), end of stay clean (assuming left in a fairly respectable state), use of pool & pool cleaning

Where is the nearest bakers?

In Dausse - approximately 1.5 miles

Where is the nearest Church?

10 mins. walk up the hill, in Cazideroque is a C13th century Catholic Church

Where are the nearest restaurants and what are they like?

Dausse - Le Moulin - very good, smart but friendly restaurant offering high quality cuisine at reasonable prices - on 24 hours notice they will prepare dishes to order and for take away!

(Dausse also has a cafe / bar which serves food and a  take away pizzaria (very good!).

Tournon - Le Beffroi - modern - good quality - medium prices - say 100 euros for a family of 4 - in village square. (The hotel / restaurant in the lower square is more "relais" - good fare, unadventurous, very good value and very filling!).

Penne - L'Air de Temp - similar to Le Beffroi - in a converted barn on village edge - smart but friendly / lovely garden areas

Penne - Maison sur la Place - modern - French with Morrocan twist - very good! - cheaper than L'Air de Temp - in square - also outside seating

Penne - Cafe des Arts - cafe / bistro - simple salads / pasta - very popular - open air - medium priced

Penne - 4 other cafe / bars all serving good food at reasonable prices - some very child friendly and informal!

Pujols (25 mins.) 4 good restaurants including Michelin starred Tocque Blanche - fantastic and cheap by UK prices!

And many, many others - Lot & Garonne is known for its good food and reasonable prices - many local specialities from pruneaux to fois gras!

What about local markets?

Every town has a fabulous weekly farmers market selling local produce as well as crafts and other goods - also many reasonably priced antique fairs ("brocante") - all well worth a visit.
